Many students who have moved away from home to take up university and TAFE courses are left stranded waiting for their Youth Allowance payments from Centrelink to be processed.

Federal flood relief funds are flowing in to assist flood affected families in both the Moira Shire and City of Greater Shepparton.
Dr Sharman Stone, Federal Member for Murray says that “as of Monday 26 March 2012, 2,153 claims for household and flood support had been processed, to the value of more than $2.4 million paid into people’s bank accounts.”

Australia Post has advised that the licensed post office at Lemnos will close very soon.

Differences in pay and contract rates and a new union dominated tribunal will not make any difference to the road safety of truck drivers.

Low fruit crop yields and prices have caused problems for some growers.
Dr Sharman Stone, Federal Member for Murray said “pear crop yields have dropped by 40%. The pear intake this year for SPC Ardmona (SPCA) was only 23,000 tonnes compared to 35,000 tonnes four years ago.”
